Get a Free Crane Quote CallHoke County has grown quickly over the past two decades, much of it driven by families tied to Fort Bragg, whose western ranges reach into the county. Raeford mixes small-town commercial streets with industrial employers and farm country.
Industrial jobs are where heavier cranes show up: setting production equipment, transformers and steel inside and outside plants. Elsewhere in the county, requests run to farm buildings, grain and equipment lifts, residential trees and rooftop units on new retail.
Pennsylvania Transformer Technology, in North Carolina since 1992, broke ground in Raeford in December 2025 on a $102.5 million expansion that the state says will add 217 jobs and about 300,000 square feet across two facilities. The new plant for pad-mount transformers is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, with first shipments in early 2027. Plant expansions like this bring steel, overhead cranes and heavy equipment that has to be set.
The city has also been bidding utility work for its industrial park, including a sewer extension and a waterline extension from Golf Course Road, and The News-Journal reported in October 2026 that a Tractor Supply is under construction at 752 Laurinburg Road.

Industrial sites usually have their own safety orientation, lockout and hot-work rules. Mention the plant's requirements in your request so the provider can staff the lift with a crew that already meets them.

Providers can quote it. Indoor picks often use smaller carry-deck cranes, gantries or a mobile crane through a roof opening or large door. Describe the item, its weight and the path to its final spot.
Not always. Many grain bin, metal building and equipment lifts are handled by boom trucks or mid-size hydraulic cranes. Soft field ground is the bigger issue, so mention it.
